What NATO HQ is and what it does
NATO HQ is the alliance's headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. It hosts NATO's international staff, national delegations and military leadership. It is the political centre where decisions are made, summits are prepared and alliance activity is coordinated.
NATO HQ does not command military operations – that is ACO's role – and it does not run major weapon system procurement, which mostly sits with the NSPA. Instead it is responsible for the alliance's own administration, communications, IT and facilities.
